SEPTEMBER 6
Happy Sunday!
Sunday is my favorite day of the week. Today is the day where our people will gather (digitally for now) and hear the Word of God, worship Jesus, and be challenged to take next steps. In addition, people who are far from God will hop on to the service. It’s going to be a great day!
I’m going to share with you a prayer that I pray most Sunday mornings. It’s from the Lord’s prayer, and it’s pretty simple. To be honest, this is a prayer I pray most mornings… but I pray it differently on Sundays.
It comes from Jesus’ teaching in the Sermon on the Mount. It’s actually how Jesus taught us to pray.
In Matthew 6:9-10, Jesus said:
“Pray like this: Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy. May your Kingdom come soon. May your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.”
Jesus told us to pray for His kingdom to come. It’s good to note that He told us to start with Father in heaven may your name be kept holy. We are friends of God, but we are also servants. He is in charge, and it’s His will we want to be done on earth.
I like to start this prayer by recognizing God’s place and mine. I’m praying relationally as to a Father and humbly to my God. Today I want to encourage you to pray His kingdom down. Pray for Him to move in our services at Echo. Pray that He would open people’s eyes. Pray that the Holy Spirit would touch the lost and stir in the hearts of His people in a powerful way. Pray that He wakes people up eager to join us for church today!
You can pray something like this:
“Father, I humbly bow before you today. You are in charge. Help me to want what you want. I surrender my ways to you. I give my life to you. I pray that your kingdom would come in me. I pray that your kingdom would come in our church. I pray that you would bless the service today. Change people’s lives. Help people respond to you Holy Spirit. Make today a day where people take steps of obedience.
In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”
Thanks for praying today! I’m proud of you for your faithfulness in this journey.
Much love to you!
Pastor Andy

Friday and Sunday are my favorite days of the week. “Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy. May your Kingdom come soon. May your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” This verse was a nice addition to today’s sermon that talked about serving others and not focusing on ourselves and material possessions. I’m sometimes guilty of pampering myself but it is only every once in awhile and then I’m back to serving God and helping others. God’s will is for us to bring as many people to heaven with us and we can do this through our charitable acts. During my recent travels I’ve had so many people forgive fees, go out of their way to make me feel welcome, spend time getting to know me, and countless other things which tells me that God is always looking out for us when we diligently serve him. It’s okay to ask for help and then when we are able to give again then we should pay it forward to bless others.
I was really excited to see the Echo Compassion coverage of missions in Brazil. When I compare my current life situation to what these people have to endure each day it helps me to take the focus and worry off myself and to help others. As soon as the Echo Compassion site is back up (I’m receiving “Page Not Found” error message) for sponsoring a child in Brazil I plan to give give give because it breaks my heart to see others suffer. We are all part of God’s kingdom and these Brazilian’s should be given the same chance to live a life with dignity. I’m most def a 12.
Thank you for your sharing. I am worried that I lack creative ideas. It is your article that makes me full of hope. Thank you. But, I have a question, can you help me? https://www.binance.com/zh-CN/register?ref=JHQQKNKN
Your point of view caught my eye and was very interesting. Thanks. I have a question for you. https://accounts.binance.com/el/register-person?ref=IQY5TET4
