SEPTEMBER 11
Hi Echo Family,
Before we begin, I firstly wanted to acknowledge the gravity of today, particularly for those who suffered unimaginable loss on this day in 2011. I am lifting you up today in my personal prayer time – that in the midst of grief and remembrance, you would also be able to experience God’s peace and comfort.
There is so much that our limited human understanding can’t fully know… why things happen, or where exactly God is in the midst of uncertainty. I feel like this is true now especially.
Have you at all wondered what God’s will is for your life? In recent months, it can seem like it’s so hard to discern God’s will during this time.
There is often a lot of confusion about God’s will. But God’s will is usually more about who than what. That means that God is more concerned with the kind of person you are becoming. The right person usually chooses the right path.
For the next few days, we are going to look at several specific prayers from Paul’s letters in the New Testament. Read these two verses and meditate on them for a couple minutes.
Colossians 1:9-10: “So we have not stopped praying for you since we first heard about you. We ask God to give you complete knowledge of His will and to give you spiritual wisdom and understanding.”
Let’s take some time right now to ask The Holy Spirit to help us see the Father’s heart.
Ask Him for leadership and guidance in a specific area of your life.
Also as you pray, ask Him to give you greater understanding of the kind of person He wants you to become.
Take a few moments to pray that God would help us grow in His knowledge as a church. This would also be a great day to bring before The Lord a big decision you are making. Perhaps you are deciding about a job, a career change or a family decision.
He wants to lead you. Just ask Him.
You might pray something like this:
“Father, thank you for caring about me. Thank you for leading and guiding my life. I submit to your direction. Please increase my knowledge of your heart. Please guide my steps today and increase my understanding. Please help me see this season of my life the way you see. Please increase passion for your Word in the hearts of the people of Echo Church.”
With love,
Pastor Andy

Good morning Pastor Andy, with all the uncertainty of this time, Delia and I were considering whether we would be involved with the ECHO kids program this fall. We were sitting on the fence basically trying to decide if we would commit to teaching kids virtually. Then we received a text the following day from Stacie which went something like this, “Are you guys going to be teaching ECHO kids this fall? Karis wants to know.“ We interpreted this as a direct message that we needed to be involved and could be difference makers with these young kids. That short text message got us off that pointy fence quickly.
Once again proving that your daughter is a true power broker and a person of great influence. Also, that God communicates with us in great and mysteriously ways.
Have a great day love your messages. Randy
Thanks Pastor Andy for your daily devotionals. These devotionals help me to grow my faith and give me hope.
What a timely message. I have been going through a lot and trying to figure out what to do, praying and asking for guidance and wisdom. Throughout my life, I’ve noticed that God often speaks powerfully through people to me. Last night I decided to post in a Facebook group community I’m in to ask for advice. I woke up comforted because all the comments I got basically said they also don’t know what to do, but they acknowledged it was a lot and really hard, and that I should talk to my therapist. (I reached out to my therapist today to set up time.) Thank you God for comforting me and letting me know I’m not crazy, that often there aren’t easy answers in life, but what we can be certain of is your goodness through it all and your steadfast love.
Thanks Pastor Andy
for all the Love You have for us today I really appreciate the way you teaching how to Pray I’m learning how to do it Thanks to you
I asking God to open my heart and help me to learn more about Him
Every day I’m trying to be a better person
Thanks God I’m doing better every day is not easy but I’m trying .
Thank you for the daily prayer devotionals, Andy. I am enjoying them as much as the Hope Project devos.
I was meditating on today’s verse, and started praying for others – including you – asking God to give others “complete knowledge of His will and… spiritual wisdom and understanding.” Then i kept reading, and you turned it around and said pray it for myself! Why didn’t I think of that? Thanks!
Thank you for this prayer initiative. Could it please continue? 2 years ago God gave me a dream of Jericho, and then Nehemiah. I have and 2 other people have just finished walking and praying around the perimeters of Sunnyvale. I call it God’s Prayer Walk, because it’s not my Prayer Walk. We have seen many miracles along the way. There is a group called Prayer Walk to continue God’s Prayer Walk that God has given me in my dreams. I can’t build God’s spiritual walls up across the country, but everyone that does God’s Prayer Walk can build His spiritual walls up like the walls in Jerusalem.

Thank you for your sharing. I am worried that I lack creative ideas. It is your article that makes me full of hope. Thank you. But, I have a question, can you help me?
I don’t think the title of your article matches the content lol. Just kidding, mainly because I had some doubts after reading the article.
